Patchwork Workshops

Along with running my fabric shop, designing quilts and making gifts I also run a selection of Patchwork workshops. The workshops are based in Adlington, Lancashire (near Chorley) at the lovely Sew Shabby Sewing & Craft School. The workshops are suitable for beginners and those with a little bit more knowledge.

Beginners Patchwork

Always fancied a go at Patchwork but not sure where to start? Come and learn the basics of patchwork, starting at the beginning. This class will give you all of the skills to go on to make some fab projects.

  • Cutting out fabric and using the rotary cutter
  • Piecing fabric together and the all important ¼” seam
  • Basting and quilting your patchwork
  • Binding your quilt

All fabrics and material used will are provided for you, along with instructions to take home.

Patchwork Skills Development

Moving on  a little bit from beginners patchwork you will learn some new skills that will develop your patchwork further. These 2 sessions will cover:

  • Making Half Square Triangles - Most of my quilts and patchwork projects involve Half Square Triangles, they are so brilliant and easy to do.
  • Joining together different shapes from a pattern- This class will get you ready to follow patchwork patterns and show how building up different blocks can come together to make some great projects.

All fabrics and material used will be provided for you.

Block of the Month Club

This course is the next step for those who have completed the beginners and skills development course (or who already do a little bit of patchwork).

It is a monthly club where we will complete 2 blocks each month so that after 6 months you will have enough fancy patchwork blocks to make a lovely lap quilt or bed runner.

This is a great way to learn lots of different skills and learn to follow quilt patterns, the world of quilting is then yours to master!
